In the world of healthcare, surface materials play a critical role in infection prevention, but how can we trust the data if the testing methods themselves are inconsistent?

Join the Healthcare Surfaces Institute for a powerful 45-minute panel discussion that pulls back the curtain on the inconsistencies plaguing current testing practices. From shifting standard test methods to the use of unreliable microbes and surrogates, this session will explore why comparing materials across different studies often leads to misleading conclusions.

Our panel features the scientists behind HSI’s patented test method, designed to bring consistency, reliability, and transparency to surface material testing.

You’ll gain insights into:
  • The limitations of current standard test methods
  • How microbial variability skews results
  • Why consistent testing is essential for meaningful comparisons
  • The development of a new test method for assemblies of materials used in medical devices

Whether you’re a healthcare professional, manufacturer, or infection prevention specialist, this session will equip you with the knowledge to make more informed decisions about surface materials and their role in patient safety.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear directly from the experts shaping the future of healthcare surface testing.

Hear from our expert panel of speakers:

  • Barbara Strain, Principal, Barbara Strain Consulting LLC
  • Ray Paxton, Executive Director of BioMedical Engineering, Piedmont Healthcare
  • Mark Lamont, Director of Mechanical Engineering, Zebra Technologies
