The Courage to Lead the Future – Practical strategies to lead yourself and others forward

You’re invited to an inspiring and exclusive breakfast celebration hosted by the ISSA Hygieia Network, a community dedicated to advancing the careers of women through education, mentoring, networking, and support programs.

Join renowned clinical psychologist, leadership expert and best-selling author Dr Amy Silver as she explores why courage is becoming one of the most important leadership skills in today’s rapidly changing world. Drawing on the psychology of fear and high performance, Amy will share practical strategies to help leaders thrive through uncertainty and lead with greater confidence.

This year’s theme is The Courage to Lead the Future – Practical strategies to lead yourself and others forward.

The future doesn’t wait for us to feel ready. Change, uncertainty and complexity are constant and the question is whether we’ll meet them with courage or let fear make our decisions.

Fear is the loudest guest in our minds. It tells us to stay quiet, avoid, stay small and fit in. It drives the flight, fight, freeze and fawn responses that quietly undermine our decisions, our conversations and our connections with others. And yet, leading ourselves and others forward demands that we act anyway.

In this high-impact session, drawing on the psychology of fear and courage, you will discover why fear is the greatest blocker of our potential and why courage is the single most powerful antidote. Using Amy’s, six-step formula from her award winning, best selling book, The Loudest Guest, you will learn how to change and control your actions so you can feel and act as your best self even when the pressure is on.

Courage isn’t the absence of fear. It’s the practice of moving forward with it. And it can be learned.

You’ll leave with:
  • A clear understanding of how fear shows up and holds you back in your decisions, conversations and connections
  • A practical, six-step formula for building courage across every area of your work
  • A personal action plan to activate your best self through the daily practice of courage
  • Because the world needs courageous leaders. And that starts with you.
