The NCRSI™ (NORMI™ Certified Remediator for Sensitized Individuals) course is an advanced, three-day training program designed to educate mold remediation professionals on specialized techniques for working with individuals who are highly sensitive to mold exposure. These “sensitized individuals” cannot tolerate standard remediation processes, requiring more precise, medically informed methods to create a safe indoor environment.

The course is developed and offered by the National Organization of Remediators and Mold Inspectors (NORMI™), with instruction primarily provided by Wonder Makers Environmental. It is guided by medical expertise and aligns with a “Level 4 Protocol,” emphasizing the connection between indoor environments and human health.

Purpose and Importance

Traditional mold remediation standards are typically designed for average occupants and may not be sufficient for individuals with mold sensitivities. Research cited in the course indicates that over 20% of the population may have a genetic predisposition to mold sensitivity, with a smaller percentage developing severe reactions. Improper remediation can trigger or worsen these conditions. The course addresses this gap by teaching professionals how to properly assess and remediate environments for these high-risk individuals.
