IEHA Certified Perioperative Cleaning Specialist Course (CPCS)

Ideal for facility service professionals in the healthcare sector of the cleaning industry, the IEHA Certified Perioperative Cleaning Specialist course is a comprehensive 4 hour and 15-minute Operating Room course. Participants will go through multiple hours of classroom training and standards review, followed by intense operating room practical training for environmental services (EVS) management and frontline staff. Additional online work will also be required. All participants are required to successfully pass a comprehensive written exam with a score of 80% or higher.

Participants that successfully complete the course and pass the exam are required to recertify every year by submitting five hours of continuing education (CEU’s) to maintain their designations. This particular course is based on the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN), Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC), and Joint Commission standards. This course will be taught by IEHA and nursing professionals.
