The Sheraton Portland Airport Hotel is located on the grounds of the Port of Portland and next to the Portland International Airport. Deb Mazzuca has worked in the JanSan Industry for 17 years and has 35 years of sales experience with consumer products while raising two daughters. She started as a merchandiser for Energizer Battery Company and worked her way up to manage the Southern California Region but found her joy in national account management where she has stayed for most of her career. Deb is a born negotiator and loves the interaction with people of all levels.
Deb was born and raised in Southern California and stayed there for college where she graduated from California State University Long Beach. She has lived within an 80 mile radius her entire life which contributed to her love for national account management as it has allowed her to see and experience the country.
Always looking for personal and professional self-improvement, Deb pursued her dream of completing her first triathlon in 2017. Professionally she is an advocate of the ISSA Hygieia Network Mentoring Program. Her charitable work is mostly involved with ALS for Lou Gehrig’s Disease. Her motto is, it’s not what you’ve got but what you give.
Gary Phillips Jr. is a highly accomplished business executive with over 20 years of experience in strategy, operations, and business development. He currently serves as the Director of Merchandising (DMM) at a leading technology company, where he is responsible for driving growth, expanding market share, and enhancing operational efficiency.
Prior to his current role, Gary held several executive positions at Fortune 500 companies, where he developed expertise in managing large-scale operations, leading cross-functional teams, and driving innovation. He has also worked in management consulting, advising clients across various industries on strategy, operations, and mergers and acquisitions.
Gary is widely recognized for his strategic vision, analytical prowess, and ability to execute complex initiatives. He has a proven track record of transforming businesses through data-driven decision-making, innovative solutions, and effective leadership.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Gary is also committed to giving back to his community. He has been actively involved in various charitable organizations, serving on boards and volunteering his time and expertise to support causes such as education, poverty alleviation, and economic development.
He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has been recognized for his leadership and contributions to the business community.
Jeffery Tobias Halter is a Consultant, Author, Gender Strategist and the President of YWomen, a strategic consulting company focused on engaging men in women’s leadership advancement. YWomen specializes in driving actionable business plans and strategies to help organizations create Integrated Women’s Leadership Strategies. Jeffery is the former Director of Diversity Strategy for The Coca-Cola Company. His clients include IBM, Amazon, Bristol-Myers Squibb and dozens of other Fortune 500 companies.
President and CEO Laurie Sewell is leading Servicon into its 50th year of achieving its purpose: to elevate the industry and provide healthy environments for people to thrive.
After earning her master’s in organizational behavior, Laurie worked at Servicon in various capacities before being named president in 2009; in 2014, CEO was added to her title. She has helped Servicon expand from a regional into a national organization, providing custodial supplies, equipment, and services to the aerospace, healthcare, life sciences, and commercial industries.
As head of a women-owned and operated company in a traditionally male-dominated industry, Laurie has been a tireless proponent of the advancement of women in the cleaning profession. Throughout her career, she has maintained her mantra of always leading with authenticity, heart, and kindness, which she makes clear, should never be mistaken for weakness. Last year, her leadership style was recognized by the Lost Angeles Business Journal as a Woman of the Year nominee. Laurie has served on numerous boards, including ISSA, and is currently an active board member of the American Red Heart Association’s Go Red for Women and the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation. Laurie is also an active member of the ISSA Hygieia Network since its 2015 inception.
Linda Silverman began her career as a sales consultant at Maintex in 1978. She subsequently served in other management positions until 2010 when she assumed the role of president. Linda, her brother Stu Silverman and nephew Danny Silverman own the company which is a chemical manufacturer/ JanSan distributor located in Southern California. Linda currently serves as Executive Chairwoman of Maintex.
Linda has been very involved in the cleaning industry serving on numerous local and international boards in a variety of capacities. She began her active participation at ISSA as a District Director prior to becoming the second women to serve as ISSA President and International Director in 2000.
Linda was a two-term board member and secretary of the ISSA Foundation, the charitable organization affiliated with ISSA which has become ISSA Charities. Today, Linda is an ISSA Charities Board member.
In 2016, Linda became a founding Hygieia Network Council member. In 2020-2022 she served as co-chair.
In addition to industry association activities, Linda is a board member of several community organizations.
She received her B.S. in Psychology from UCLA in 1975.
