The brand’s journey began with Mark as a solo professional house cleaner in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. His obsession with dependability and quality made him highly sought after in the area and in just three years he grew from a solo Professional House Cleaner to become the largest and most successful residential cleaning brand in the Province’s history.
However, despite offering industry-leading performance-based remuneration, he faced a common industry challenge of high turnover rates. Determined to find a solution and scale nationally, Mark persistently experimented with different business model iterations without solving the issue.
He thought back to the days when he was the sole professional house cleaner and realized that he cared so much about his work because he was the owner and that nobody cares like an owner.
With his new company slogan, Nobody Cares Like An Owner, resonating in his mind he came up with the concept of Nano-Franchising which turns each and every technician in the field into an actual nano-franchisee business owner and subsequently creates a level of commitment and dedication that is impossible to replicate in any other type of work arrangement.
Motivated Brands Inc. was formed, the model beta tested for two years and the company launched Motivated House Cleaners nationally during the first quarter of 2023. Currently they are launching the company’s second and third national divisions, Motivated Pooper Scoopers and Motivated Haircutters, during the second quarter of 2023 and then intend on rounding out the year with the national launch of Motivated Household Helpers and Motivated Wash & Fold.
