DESCRIPTION:The ISSA Cleaning for Health Workshop: Helping Essential Cleaners Identify Reservoirs for Germs Workshop provides critical education and training to frontline cleaning workers. This workshop closes gaps in current protections and controls for diseases transmissible by contact, droplet, and aerosol, of which frontline cleaners can be particularly vulnerable.\nCore workshop focus:\nIn-person, three-hour workshop, taught by master trainers in the cleaning industry:\n\nIdentifying and preventing occupational-related infectious diseases, including COVID-19, in industries with high-illness rates, for frontline workers or susceptible populations\nIdentifying workplace hazards associated with infectious diseases, including COVID-19\n\nThe training course consists of three sessions:\nSession 1 – What Does It Mean to Recognize Risk\nSession 2 – How Germs Spread and Make People Sick\nSession 3 – Human Body and Built Environment Reservoirs Important for the Cleaning Industry\nWorkshop curriculum topics include:\n\nCase Studies – The transmission of infectious diseases in the workplace\nTypes of infectious disease-causing agents – Bacteria, viruses, fungi\nChain of infection and signs, symptoms, and transmission of infectious diseases\nWhat are vaccine-preventable diseases?
